Worship Opportunities

Sunday Morning Opportunities

Early Worship - 8:15 a.m. - For those who are early risers, Salem Church offers an 8:15 a.m. worship opportunity.  The first Sunday of each month, the Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated.  Special opportunities are available for young worshipers, including: staffed child care (age 0 to age 3), and a Preschool/Junior Church program (ages 3 to second grade).

Informal Worship - 9:30 a.m. - Salem's informal worship meets the needs of individuals looking for a contemporary style of worship.  Beginning at 9:30 a.m., this service is held in Fellowship Hall and is filled with lots of praise and singing, and includes the special talents of guitar, keyboard and drum players.  There is staffed child care (age 0 to age 3), and Sunday School classes for all children and youth.

Late Worship - 10:45 a.m. - This time of worship often includes the musical talents of the various church choirs.  Opportunities for young worshipers include staffed child care (age 0 to age 3), a Preschool program (3, 4, and 5 year olds), and a Junior Church program (first and second graders).

Special Worship Opportunities

Christmas Eve Candlelight Services - Salem offers a Christmas Eve worship opportunity to fit everyone's taste and time schedule.  All services offer child care, include special music by one or more of Salem's choirs, and involve candlelight.
5:00 p.m. - The Youth Choir provides the music for this service.
7:00 p.m. - The Angelic and Carol Choirs provide the special music for this service.
9:00 p.m.  - The Informal Worship Team leads this service.
11:00 p.m. - The Sanctuary Choir provides the music for this service.  The Sacrament of Holy Communion is served.

Ash Wednesday Service - Ash Wednesday represents the beginning of the season of Lent.  It is a day when ashes are imposed to remind Christians of their own mortality and the sacrifice that Christ made for us all.  This service is offered at 7:00 p.m.

Maundy Thursday Service - On this day, Jesus met with his disciples for the Last Supper.  This service recalls an emotional event in the life of the church.  This service is offered at 7:00 p.m.

Good Friday Service - Churches within the local area come together on Good Friday to share in a community worship service.  Each year, a different congregation hosts this service.  Join with other Christians as we remember the sacrifice that Christ made so that we may have everlasting life.  Location announcements are printed in the Stimulus and weekly worship folders.

Easter Sunrise Service - 6:30 a.m.  Salem celebrates the resurrection of Christ Our King through this special worship service.  Led by the youth of the church, this time of worship is held in the outdoor chapel (weather permitting).  Bring a coat and join in an "outdoor" celebration!

Easter Sunday Celebration of Resurrection - The celebration of the resurrection continues at the 8:15, 9:30 and 10:45 morning worship opportunities.  Join in singing praises to God and hearing the resurrection story.  We celebrate because God who we serve is not dead, but ALIVE!

Thanksgiving Eve - Salem joins with other local congregations in thanking the Lord for the many blessings that he has provided.  This worship is held at 7:00 p.m. and is hosted by a different church each year.  Watch the Stimulus and weekly worship folders for announcements.
